Suit Up for Success celebrates the remarkable progress of men in recovery and marks the start of their new lives after struggling with addiction and homelessness. To break the cycle, the Mission addresses root causes including long-term recovery programs and comprehensive aftercare support, including housing assistance, continuing education, community building opportunities, job training, and more.
Working with volunteer stylists, men on the path to recovery will receive makeovers, including a new outfit, haircut, and shave; all made possible with the help of Styled Seattle. They will also attend a job fair where they’ll receive resume assistance, practice mock interviews, and network with local businesses, offering them valuable opportunities to begin a new chapter in their lives.

"It is very meaningful for me and my team to work on this project with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. I love connecting with the guys. They are kind, deserving, and appreciative. It is an honor for us to give them an outfit that will help them in the next phase of their recovery, job, and life.
"It’s just so joyful, the whole event! It’s also a big challenge. We have been pulling clothes for over a week leading up this event, planning outfits for men in their 20’s and all the way up to their 70’s.
"It feels really good to observe these men seeing themselves in a new outfit and hairstyle. The life change becomes real when they look at themselves in the mirror for the first time. They have done a lot of work on the inside, mentally and emotionally. This is just an external reflection of that hard work. When all of that clicks together, it’s really powerful."
