"They matter." GiveBIG helps homeless neighbors

So many of our neighbors are living on the streets, praying out to God in their darkest moments for help and some kind of change.

Now, thanks to a generous matching grant, your GiveBIG gift for Seattle's Union Gospel Mission will be DOUBLED — up to $100,000 — to help 2x as many overcome homelessness and addiction.

This is your moment to open the door to recovery grounded in God’s love for a neighbor who’s lost and in need — so they can become found.

But time is running out to DOUBLE your GiveBIG gift by midnight on May 8.

GiveBIG to help 2x as many homeless people like Richard

Richard started using drugs at a young age. “I wasn't addicted, but it helped me escape a very traumatic home life.”

As an adult living on the streets, Richard’s lifelong drug use intensified. “I didn’t care about anybody, or if anybody cared about me.

“I remember wishing I could just go to sleep and never wake up. I prayed to God for some kind of change.

“A half hour later, the Mission’s Search & Rescue team found me sleeping on a piece of cardboard. They asked what was going on in my life and how they could help. That night I got involved with the Mission and I haven't left since.”

Drug-free and a graduate of our Men's Recovery Program, today Richard works at the Mission as our Emergency Outreach Administrator. Almost every day he hits the streets, reaching out to our homeless brothers and sisters, often driving the same Search & Rescue van that found him.

Your GiveBIG gift has the power to rescue and restore 2x as many lives — just like Richard's.

“I would describe my life today as blessed and hopeful. I’m able to be there for people. To be God’s hands and make sure that people know they matter.”

Thank you for your compassion and generosity. The Mission is nothing without those who help transform lives, and that’s you!
