Sometimes, the path toward healing begins with taking a step outside.
The men are accomplishing remarkable things, whether taking a simple hike through Seward Park in the heart of Seattle or tackling Granite Mountain in the Cascades.
On one Granite Mountain hike, one of our volunteers witnessed an especially powerful example of perseverance and community. One participant struggled with the daunting four-and-a-half-hour climb to the summit but remained committed to reaching the goal. Along the way, his fellow guests offered encouragement and support, helping him continue until he made it to the top.
That’s the kind of growth that happens when people work toward a goal together.
The adventures don’t stop when the seasons change! Whether it’s spring, summer, fall, or winter, the group will keep hiking through sun, wind, rain, and snow.
We’re hoping to expand Outdoor Adventures to include guests at other Mission locations.
