Senior ministry

The aging baby boomer generation has collided with a down economy to create unprecedented need.
Men and women as young as the their 50s stare into the uncertain future with fear.
The challenges aren't new. They need help finding jobs, getting enough food to survive and just making ends meet. The sheer quantity of the boomer generation makes the challenges we face unprecedented.
Seniors need more help today than ever before. As public funding and support of programs like Medicare are cut they face increasing need . . . and increasing stress.
How we bring hope to seniors
Our work with seniors focuses on bringing them into a community where they can enjoy each other, share about the challenges they face in their lives and discover real solutions.
Volunteers minister to seniors through:
- Visiting them in their homes
- Community meal programs
- Intentional outreach
- Job search assistance
- Bible studies
- Volunteer opportunities
- Other regular events (see the calendar below)
- Workshops
Are you over 50 and would like to participate? We'd love to have you involved. Contact Sheila — 206.322.6801 or swhitehead@ugm.org — to find out more.
