Car fans help homeless men and women in the community.

A food drive to restock the pantry at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission kicks off at 12 noon, November 3, when the Seattle International Auto Show opens its five-day run at Qwest Field Event Center (formerly Seahawks Stadium Exhibition Center).

Those who plan to attend the Auto Show can bring non-perishable food items -- including canned and bulk foods such as vegetables, rice and pasta – and place them in a bin at one of three showgoer entrances at the event:

  • Mezzanine level of Qwest Field Event Center parking garage
  • The far north entrance of Qwest Field Event Center on Occidental Street and
  • On Occidental Street, 500 yards east of Royal Brougham Way
The auto show runs November 3rd – 7th.
The times are Wednesday through Friday, 12 noon-10 p.m.;
Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and
Sunday, 10 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, now in its 72nd year, feeds over 1200 meals a day to hundreds of homeless people.
