The Seattle office of Edelman, a global public relations firm, sponsored a field trip for 10 children staying at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission’s Women and Children’s Shelter. Edelman took the children to The Seattle Center’s Pacific Science Center for "Grossology", an interactive and educational exhibit about the human body. Edelman purchased tickets for the children and 15 Edelman employees; each child was paired with one or two chaperones for a few hours of fun. In addition to the exhibit, they toured the butterfly house, the insectariums, the lagoon, and played many of the Science Center’s interactive games. Each child was given a toy ball and a pencil on the way back to the shelter. The field trip received rave reviews from the Edelman participants, who enjoyed working directly with children and look forward to hosting another outing in the near future.
