One man's heart to help

Since Thanksgiving, bank manager Franklin Iluches, has volunteered his time at the Women & Children's Shelter every Wednesday and some Saturdays. Although he loves to help anywhere there’s a need, he mainly spends his time in the kitchen busily preparing the ingredients he has brought. After preparing enough food for 70 homeless women and children, he serves the dish with a smile and then later helps clean up.

The women and children love him.

On Valentine’s Day he brought in roses for each one of the women and staff. The children fondly remember another time he popped in with the sweet surprise of strawberry shortcake. And yet another time he handed out chocolate bars.

“I get much more (in return) from volunteering at the Women & Children's Shelter than I put in,” Frank said. “I wish I could do more.”
