Youth ministry

Most of the Mission's programs help people overcome the past. Youth ministry is about prevention.

We're investing in an entire generation of high risk youth in King County, so they won't grow up to a future in gangs.

When we ask youth what will keep them from joining a gang, their answer is simple. They need another way to make money and spend time with their friends. Their answer is so simple, it seems too simple.

Every day, we show these kids love, sharing the lifesaving message of the Gospel with them or helping them believe they can finish school and get a good job.

Each new kid that spends time with us is a sign our efforts are gaining traction; hope is winning.

Summer program (6th-9th grade)

Students from the following schools can now register for Summer S.O.U.L. (Seeking Out Urban Leaders):

Aki Kurose Middle School
Asa Mercer Middle School
South Shore Middle School
Rainier Beach High School (freshmen)
Cleveland High Schol (freshmen)

Summer S.O.U.L. starts July 2nd and ends August 14th. Cost to register is $50. We'll provide lunch, camp, field trips, Bible studies and games.

Youth ministry 101

We work in neighborhoods and schools with large numbers of high risk students and poor families. By investing in them, we can bring hope and healing to the most desperate areas of our city.

The need is growing, and we're responding. We're even operating a youth shelter in cooperation with a church and other organizations in Bellevue.

We stay busy helping elementary, middle school and high school students with:

Tutoring and mentoring
After-school programs
Athletics
Outreach events
Small groups
Mission trips
Summer camps
Housing
