Make a Difference in Your Community!

Seventy-eight years ago, 17 local churches came together and answered the need of hungry and homeless people during the Great Depression.

Today, churches are still meeting the needs of this community. Your partnership makes it possible for hope to be restored and lives to be changed.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Become an Ambassador

An Ambassador is an important link between the church and Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. Ambassadors serve as a liaison between the Mission and the congregation to provide up to date information about the needs of Seattle's hurting and homeless community. If you are interested in becoming an active part of a ministry that changes lives, please contact Peggy at 206.723.0767 x434.

Ambassador Resources

Ambassadors are provided resources upon request and are sent monthly updates. We will also feature opportunities on line for Ambassadors to view and see if their group would be interested in participating.

Ambassador’s Church Group Volunteers with Search and Rescue

Ambassador Charlie Wilkins and group from New Hope Seattle volunteered with our Search and Rescue Van which delivers hope and the right kind of help to homeless people on the streets of Seattle on the coldest, wettest nights. Blankets, warm coats, sandwiches and hot cocoa not only provide comfort, but they can help save lives. Our volunteers also listen to people’s problems, pray with them and invite them to come to the Mission for safe, warm, shelter and help to get off the streets for good.

Charlie says, "We can gauge our maturity not by what we proclaim when times are good, but by what we do when we are stripped down and all we have left are God’s promises. These people had absolutely nothing, and yet they were courteous and thankful and polite. They put other people first. I am looking forward to the next time we can go out to the Seattle I never knew, to serve God alongside Seattle's Union Gospel Mission."

Speakers

The Mission will come to your churches, schools, Bible studies, or other service groups to share our story. Learn how to become involved in a ministry of hope for those in need in our area. Find out about how God is transforming broken lives into successful, meaningful futures in Him.

We will provide speakers for your group or church congregation, who will share exciting testimonies of how God is using Seattle's Union Gospel Mission to change lives in our community. Invite a Mission representative to come speak at your church or group, to share about the Mission's vision, its programs, and how you can become involved.
