BelRed Family Resource Center

Dear Members of the Redmond City Council,

The homelessness crisis in Redmond continues to worsen. Bellevue and Lake Washington School Districts are seeing an increase in homelessness among students, serving 249 and 353 students, respectively. There is an innovative opportunity to provide a path out of homelessness for women with children through the BelRed Family Resource Center, and I’m writing to ask for your support.

I support the BelRed Family Resource Center because... [Insert your personal comments, encounter with homelessness on the Eastside, or sample talking points below.]

  • ...the professional staff and trained volunteers will work alongside guests to identify a plan-based program to overcome barriers, set goals, and move forward into more stable housing.

Featured community partners

The BelRed Family Resource Center is fully funded by individual donors from Evangelical Chinese Church and Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, and supported by Creekside Covenant Church and Westminster Chapel.

Evangelical Chinese Church of Seattle

Evangelical Chinese Church (ECC) was formed in 1967 with a vision to provide fellowship and witness for the Lord to new Mandarin-speaking Chinese immigrants settling in the Greater Seattle area. Since then the Lord has really blessed ECC, now a multi-generational, multi-language (Mandarin, Cantonese and English) and multi-campus church with locations in Seattle and Redmond along with church plants in Snohomish, South King County and Tacoma. The goal of ECC is to help people grow and mature in their faith in God, to share God’s love to those around us, and to be a blessing to others in our community and in the world.

Creekside Covenant Church

Creekside Covenant Church (Creekside) was planted in 1999 with the hope of being a congregation that wasn’t just in the community but for the community. Creekside’s deep care and concern for people, especially the most vulnerable, is born from their interaction with a God who loves His people, and has sent Creekside on a mission to uphold the dignity of all humans regardless of circumstance. Creekside counts it a privilege to be “mission friends” with community partners that share their commitment to serving the Eastside.

Westminster Chapel

Westminster Chapel has consistently responded to the challenges of Bellevue's growth as a dynamic urban center of the Pacific Northwest. The church believes that as they grow in loving God and others authentically, they will help bring compassion and justice to those whose voices are diminished.  Westminster has served in partnership with Congregations for the Homeless as a host site for their rotating shelter for over 10 years. They are committed to reach beyond themselves to impact one life, a family, or issue in the community with God's transforming love.
