"I believed I was going to die. And so I came to Seattle's Union Gospel Mission for a meal and a night's rest."
"A brother said the Union Gospel Mission could be the sanctuary by which I could get free from drugs and alcohol. I welcomed the opportunity."
As a boy, Christopher wanted to be just like his dad. Unfortunately, Christopher's father was an addict and a rebel -- and Christopher became just like him.
In the end, the drugs and alcohol became a burden too heavy to bear. "It just took its toll on my body. I didn't believe that anybody cared for me. I was so alone and very, very afraid."
When Christopher came in for a meal, he decided to enter the program, and change his life for good. Today, he's clean from drugs and alcohol. Restored to his family. And hoping to make a difference in the lives of others. What does Christopher think of his new life? "It's a miracle that's taken place. And I am so grateful for it."
