Homelessness

Key Area of Service: Homelessness

You work hard at your job, pay all your bills and have a few months of savings in the bank. People like you don't sleep on the street.

Think again. They do.

Hardworking men and women like you and me join swelling ranks of homeless every day.

Those most vulnerable — women and children, victims of human trafficking, people running from domestic violence — grow at record numbers.

This isn't even counting the chronically homeless, who already can't fit into the region's shelters.

A warm bed for those facing homelessness

Generous friends like you have joined with us to create a system of shelters and housing that can provide shelter for anyone who needs it.

  • Developing and launching new shelters: We launched a North Seattle Winter Shelter, Eastside Homeless Youth housing and partnered to operate an Eastside Winter Shelter. Learn more about our emergency shelter efforts.
  • Rapid/Emergency Housing: With the help of partner churches, volunteers and individuals we're working to secure and repurpose properties for emergency shelter for the victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.
  • Search & Rescue Van: We've expanded routes for both our morning watch and night vans to meet the growing need outside of the downtown core. Find out more about the Search & Rescue Van.
