Fill their plate!

Print our Food Drive Poster on a sheet of plain paper and tape it to a box. Fill the box with some or all of the items from the poster! If you have permission, bring your box to your church, workplace, school or other group. Once filled, bring your box down to the Mission at 3800 Othello Street, Seattle, 98118. Hungry people in our community will truly appreciate your caring!

Make a T-shirt, then wear it!

Print the Mission's T-shirt graphic on special iron-on transfer paper. Follow instructions to iron it on and use a T-shirt of your choice! Then go jogging, take a walk or go shopping to show your support for the Mission and helping those in greatest need.

Give Hope Tickets to homeless.

Recently, you may have felt called to help someone on the streets. Instead of giving money, be prepared with these business card-sized Hope Tickets! They include the address and hours for meals, and an invitation to get help at the Mission. Adjust your printer settings to print double-sided and use whatever paper you have. You may change someone's life forever!

Toiletries needed, share it!

Toiletries provide homeless guests and those in our recovery programs the basic dignity of good hygiene.  If you are a member of a church, business or service group - now is a great time to organize a collection.

Download a Toiletry Drive poster to let others know how they can help and what items are needed most!

Bring a friend to graduation.

Finishing our residential recovery program is a huge milestone for men and women overcoming abuse, addiction and homelessness. Come celebrate their amazing transformation.  You’ll be inspired by their testimonies and so will your guest!

Download kid's coloring page.

Download Search & Rescue Van coloring page for children at home, school or church. It gives parents/teachers an opportunity to talk to kids about helping others. The Search & Rescue Van goes out at night distributing food, blankets, clothing to homeless people on the streets - inviting them to safe shelter at the Mission.

Upload photos of artwork on Facebook and inspire action in others like you, who care about our homeless neighbors.

Pray for struggling neighbors.

Sometimes the needs of the poor and homeless seem overwhelming. But God is able to meet each need. Join us in asking God to continue to provide life-saving meals and hope for homeless men, women and children in our community.

Host online sock drive!

Use Facebook to start an online sock drive with your friends!  It's easy, just include a link to the Mission's Wish List website.  There, you and others can donate socks to provide warmth and comfort to homeless neighbors.

Recycle your newsletter!

After reading your monthly Mission newsletter, pass it on to a friend, post it on a bulletin board or ask to leave it in a doctor’s waiting room. Giving your newsletter a “second life” can connect someone new to the Mission.  If you haven't already, subscribe or view recent issues here.

Upload your 30 words or short video to the Facebook wall for Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.

Encourage our guests.

Many of our homeless guests have been through the frightening experience of losing their homes and any feeling of security for the future. Some have witnessed violence on the streets or suffered from abuse. Families especially walk through our doors in a state of shock that homelessness could actually happen to them.

Send a short note to show you care.

Share your inspiration.

If you have a favorite Scripture or quote that motivates you to care for the less fortunate, why not share it with others? Post it on our Facebook Wall and inspire action in others like you, who care about the homeless and hungry in Seattle.
