75th Anniversary Events
Seattle's Union Gospel Mission has been restoring hope for 75 years and you are invited to
join us in the celebration of fun and thanksgiving. Several anniversary events are planned
for the entire family.
Lunch at the Men's Shelter
Join the Men's Shelter residents, staff and volunteers for lunch three times during the
anniversary year.
- October 31, 2006 will include an all-American menu of hamburgers with all the fixings,
a display of historic Mission photos and gospel music.
- On Friday, March 16, 2007, lunch will be in the Southern tradition remembering
the Mission's purchase of the Annex Building in 1989. Fried chicken will
be on the menu.
- In the Mexican tradition, guests will enjoy nachos supreme for lunch on
Friday, July 13, 2007. The event will honor the purchase of the Washington
Court Building that now houses the chapel for Spanish speaking men.
75th Anniversary Carnival and Concert
On Saturday, July 21st, the Mission will be hosting a carnival and concert celebrating 75
years of service to the community.
There will be 12 inflatable toys, games, food and prizes -- fun for the whole family. Later
that night, musical guests from God's Block Ministries including: THIS'L, JSON, KAP II,
Willie Will, and SEIZE will provide a day of fun.

Picnic in the Park
The community will gather to enjoy a picnic in Occidental park Tuesday, August 21st from
11:00am-2:00pm. Lunch will be plentiful as we celebrate the Mission's founding year.
Hope for Seattle 5K Fun Run/Walk
The first Seattle's Union Gospel Mission Fun Run is set for Saturday, September 15th. The run
is for runners (and walkers) of all ages and will be in the Seward Park area. Proceeds will
benefit the Mission. Watch for details and sign-up information.
